McDonald’s has unveiled its flagship Olympic Park restaurant, which it says is its biggest restaurant to date.
To keep in line with London 2012’s theme of sustainability, McDonald’s said 75% of the Olympic Park restaurant is set to be reused and recycled.
The company said 5,500 items including furniture, kitchen equipment and light bulbs will be transferred to existing and new restaurants elsewhere in the UK.
McDonald’s is planning to launch 20 new restaurants in the next 12 months, which will be furnished with fixtures, fittings and equipment from the Olympic restaurants.
Head of property Henry Trickey said McDonald’s planned to concentrate on opening drive through restaurants, with a potential pipeline of 300 across the UK.
