McHugh & Co pulls in £17.2m

For-Sale-Sign.jpegMcHugh & Co’s latest sale achieved an 83% success rate, offering a mixture of prime central London lots and cheaper suburban houses and flats.

The top lot was a 2,060 sq ft Grade II listed house in Regent’s Park, NW1, which sold prior to the auction for £2.1m.

The house was part of an executor’s sale and had been in the same family for 47 years. It had been on the open market for nine months, priced at £2.1m, but a firm offer had failed to materialise, said auctioneer James McHugh.

The sale, at which 46 lots were offered, raised £17.2m.

Other highlights at the sale included a terraced shop and office building in Maida Vale, W9, which was sold by a property company to an investor for £1.6m off a guide of £1.1m.

The auction took place on 7 October at The Montcalm Hotel, W1.
