McIntosh moves to King Sturge as head of research

King Sturge has poached Insignia Richard Ellis’s Angus McIntosh to replace Bob Thompson as head of research.

McIntosh was head of research at Richard Ellis for seven years, moving there from Healey & Baker. After Insignia RE took over St Quintin two years ago, he split the role with St Quintin’s head of research, Peter Damesick, concentrating on European projects while Damesick covered the UK market.

Globally King Sturge is much smaller than the Insignia group, but McIntosh denied the move was a step down. “King Sturge has a bigger European network than Insignia does. This position is both good for me and my career,” he said.

King Sturge is believed to have been offering a basic salary of at least £80,000, plus bonus. Although most of its 1,000 staff work in the UK, it is targeting European expansion and now has 11 offices on the continent. It opened in Warsaw and Marseilles in January.

Thompson is staying at King Sturge, where he was appointed head of e-commerce earlier this year. At Insignia RE, Damesick will take over responsibility for all UK and European research.
