Meadowhall signs raft of new tenants

 

Meadowhall in Sheffield has secured a raft of new deals in the run-up to Christmas.

 

Fashion brand Firetrap has agreed a 10-year lease on a 3,500 sq ft shop, women’s fashion retailer Lipsy has taken a 10-year lease on a 2,300 sq ft store, chocolate brand Hotel Chocolat will trade out of 720 sq ft on a five-year lease and jewellery retailer Pandora has taken 500 sq ft on a 15-year lease.

 

Sports retailer JD Sports has nearly doubled its space by moving into a new 10,000 sq ft store on a 20-year lease and Bank, the sister company of JD Sport, is relocating to the former 6,500 sq ft JD Sports shop on a 15-year lease.

 

Handmade Burger Kitchen is opening a 2,800 sq ft restaurant on a 15-year lease adjacent to the 11-screen Vue cinema. Mexican chain Chilango is joining HBK in the shopping centre’s Oasis with a 3,500 sq ft restaurant on a 10-year lease next to Zizzi and Frankie and Benny’s.

 

Marion Dillon, senior asset manager at British Land, said on behalf of the joint owners, British Land and London and Stamford: “This latest combination of new brands and significant upsizes from existing occupiers underlines the industry’s confidence in Meadowhall’s position as the dominant retail location in the Yorkshire region.”
