A £10.4m deal has been signed by Peel Media, owners of MediaCityUK, to bring a University Technical College to the Manchester development.
The college, known as UTC@MediaCityUK, will take a 67,000 sq ft building at the junction of South Langworthy Road and Broadway.
It will specialise in the creative and digital industries, aimed at 14-19-year-olds from Greater Manchester.
The UTC is to be funded by the Department for Education and sponsored by the Aldridge Foundation, Salford University, Salford City College and the Lowry.
MediaCityUK managing director Stephen Wild said: “As education, training and development continue to be debated by businesses and political figures, it is vital MediaCityUK has a learning hub at the core of its creative environment.
“Bringing together talent and academia creates a whole host of benefits and opportunities, including knowledge partnership sharing and ultimately job creation.”
The Education Funding Agency was advised by DTZ.
