MediaCityUK hires new agents

Salford-Quays-THUMB.jpegMediaCityUK has appointed a new office agency team as it shifts focus to the second phase of the 5m sq ft Salford Quays regeneration project.

CBRE and Manchester-based firm OBI Property have won the instruction after agents were invited to pitch for the job.

Previously, CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield were the retained office agents.

It comes after MediaCityUK, a joint venture between Peel Land and Property and Legal & General Capital announced plans to double the existing site in size over the next 10 years.

Phase two will comprise 540,000 sq ft of offices and 1,800 flats alongside shops and leisure space.

Existing occupiers include BBC North, ITV, Coronation Street, SIS LIVE, the University of Salford, dock10 and more than 250 smaller creative and tech businesses.

Stephen Wild, managing director of MediaCityUK, said: “We have had some really exciting proposals put forward, and we thank the current team for all the input to date.

“We are confident we’ve got the best team in place to work with going forward.”
