MediaCityUK signs RSVP Media Response

digital world centreCall centre RSVP Media Response has signed a three-year lease to occupy 5,000 sq ft at the Digital World Centre, in Manchester’s MediaCityUK.

The contact centre, which is staffed entirely by actors, is opening its first northern headquarters at the building, where quoted rents are £19.50 per sq ft.

RSVP is headquartered in London Docklands, E14, where it employs 370 people. It will add an extra 50 members of staff to its team at MediaCityUK, with plans to grow to 150 within the first year of northern operations.

As well as housing its call centre at the Digital World Centre, the northern division of RSVP will provide a base for the company’s in-house theatrical agency, RSVP Artists. Running in tandem with the call centre, RSVP Artists actively looks for performance roles for its agency staff.

Managing director Mark Abernethy said: “MediaCityUK is such a great place for us to be situated in the north. It is a vibrant and creative environment and it suits us perfectly to be so close to the Lowry theatre, BBC North, ITV, and the Coronation Street set.

“It will be great to have so many casting directors close by and they in turn will have easy access to our pool of actors, should they need to fill last-minute castings.”

Existing tenants at the 72,000 sq ft Digital World Centre include Regus and the Daily Telegraph.

Canning O’Neill advised MediaCityUK, a joint venture between Peel Land and Property and Legal and General Capital.
