Medical firm agrees deal for major new lab

Health Services Laboratories has signed a 16-year lease for a new 50,105 sq ft clinical laboratory hub at Croxley Park, Watford.

Health Services Laboratories, which provides pathology services for NHS trusts, will move into Building 7 at Watford Borough Council’s Croxley Park once the entire building has been refurbished to a grade-A standard for use as laboratories and offices.

The labs will receive patient samples from across the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System.

Paul Smith, director at Bray Fox Smith, which advised the council on the deal, said: “Following a strategic decision to facilitate the move of DLL into Building 1 earlier this year, Watford Borough Council has been able to offer the whole building to HSL. This forward-thinking approach in asset management and investment of the asset has resulted in not only the retention of long-term occupiers but the addition of a major new tenant, HSL.”

HSL will join other companies from the medical sector at the 700,000 sq ft Croxley Park including Smith and Nephew, Medronic, and Glenmark.

Bray Fox Smith and Stimpsons are letting agents at Croxley Park; DWD acted for HSL.
