MEPC accelerates Silverstone signings

Silverstone-1Motorsport engineer Mai-Con, Sahara Force India Formula One and the Nissan Le Mans P1 Team are the first companies to sign up to the next phase of MEPC’s Silverstone Formula One Grand Prix scheme in Northamptonshire.

The firms agreed an average lease length of between five and 10 years, and will pay rent of around £8 per sq ft.

They will move into an 85,000 sq ft space on the site, which MEPC bought from motorsport presenter and former team owner Eddie Jordan.

Construction work has also begun on 14 speculative industrial units, totalling 125,000 sq ft, for high-tech engineering firms at the main entrance to the Silverstone circuit.

The spec units will be housed in two self-contained buildings and two terraces ranging from 5,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft.

James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, said: “Since taking over the management of Silverstone Park in 2013, MEPC has increased the number of high-tech businesses on site from 50 to more than 70.”
