Commercial contracts have been finalised on the Millennium Dome site, paving the way for work to begin on Meridian Delta’s £5bn development there.
Meridian Delta, a joint venture of Quintain and Lend Lease, first forged the deal with government agency English Partnerships in May 2002.
The delay in finally signing the deal has come under fire from some opposition politicians.
