Mersey Docks to close Sheerness to Vlissingen cross-Channel service
Mersey Docks & Harbour Company is to close its Eurolink passenger service from Sheerness to Vlissingen in the Netherlands after incurring losses of £4.5m in the six months to June 30. The company said Eurolink freight operations had met expectations and it is seeking to sell this side of the business as a going concern. But it will close it if no purchaser is found.
