Met Office opts for Stratus consortium for Exeter HQ

The Stratus consortium, which comprises Logica, Group 4 Falck and Constain/Skanska, has beaten off stiff competition to win the contract to develop the Met Office’s £70m headquarters in Exeter.

The Met Office is moving to Exeter from its existing Bracknell HQ. After an open tender process, Stratus has been chosen from a final short-list, which included the M-Logic consortium, comprising Amey, Hewlett-Packard, engineer Buro Happold, Mace and Alsop Architects.

Stratus has appointed Broadway Malyan as architect. The Met Office is being advised by Mouchel.
