The Metro Shopping Fund – a jv between Land Securities and Delancey – has withdrawn plans for a £400m scheme at Clapham Junction, SW11, after facing opposition from Wandsworth council planners.
The local authority was set to reject the plans at a council meeting this week, citing a lack of affordable housing and transport benefits.
Proposals included 556 homes, 250,000 sq ft of shops, cafés and bars, new station entrances, a two-level pedestrian shopping street, rooftop gardens and an art-house cinema.
