Metropolitan Housing Association appoints chief executive

Geeta Nanda has been appointed as the new chief executive of Metropolitan Housing Association.

She will be leaving Thames Valley Housing in September where she currently holds the same role.

Thames Valley Housing manages more than 15,800 properties in London, Middlesex, Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and Sussex. Fizzy Living is TVMH’s market-rent business and it also has a build-for-sale joint venture with Galliford Try called Opal.

MHA is even bigger, managing nearly 38,000 homes across London, the East Midlands and the East of England.

Nanda said: “When I joined TVH, I only ever intended to stay for five years. Nine years later, I found myself still loving it. However, I think the time is right for me to move on to a new challenge and for TVH to appoint a new, fresh and creative chief executive to take them into the future.”

David Clayton-Smith, chair of TVH, said: “Geeta has achieved so much over the last decade at TVH, from launching Fizzy Living, our PRS arm, and our private-sale joint venture with Galliford Try, to driving up customer service standards to some of the best in the sector and establishing a high-performing community investment team.

“We are of course sad to see her go, but our board are now undertaking a search for her replacement to lead TVH into its next phase and an announcement will be made in due course.”
