MFI completes 750,000 sq ft Yorkshire shed letting

MFI has completed one of the largest ever industrial lettings in south Yorkshire, taking a 750,000 sq ft unit at Nimbus Park, Doncaster.

The furniture giant, bought for the nominal sum of £1 by private equity group Merchant Equity Partners in October, has taken a 10-year lease at £4 per sq ft on the shed, developed through a joint venture between Helios Slough and CBRE Investors.

The lease, which includes a 20-month rent free period starting on October 1, is being underwritten for five years by logistics giant DHL.

MFI was forced to vacate its 950,000 sq ft distribution centre at Brackmills industrial park, Northampton, where Galiform, MFI’s former parent company, is the head lease holder.

M3 is letting agent for Nimbus Park. Haslams advised MFI.
