American designer Michael Kors has signed a lease for a 7,000 sq ft store at Manchester Arndale shopping centre.

The company, famous for watches and handbags, has taken a 10-year lease with landlords intu and M&G Real Estate.

It joins a flurry of new tenants at the 1.4m sq ft centre including fashion retailer Drome and MooBoo, which have signed for 7,100 sq ft and 476 sq ft respectively.

Elise Chamberlain, director, asset management (retail) at M&G Real Estate, said: “Competition for space in the scheme is becoming fierce as retailers continue to benefit from the 40m footfall we see coming through the centre’s doors. This, of course, ensures that we are able to continue providing a diverse range of retailers tailored to the catchment we serve.”

JLL and Tushingham Moore are letting agents at Manchester Arndale.
