According to the Development Board for Rural Wales (DBRW), Mid Wales attracted £32m of private sector investment. Along with the jobs created, this ensured a record year. Property sales generated £6.75m – 60% of all the factories built by the agency are now privately owned.
A fall in factory vacancy to 8.7% prompted the DBRW’s 15,793 sq m (170,000 sq ft) construction programme. Existing business parks were extended and some historic buildings were redeveloped for business use.
