Middle Eastern buyers edge out Europeans in prime London housing market

Middle Eastern buyers are returning to the prime London housing market, accounting for 10% of home purchases in the first quarter of the year, figures from Hamptons International show.

That puts them ahead of European buyers for the first time. The latter group accounted for 8% of purchases, down sharply from as much as 28% in the second quarter of last year.

Foreign homeowners accounted for 40% of all sales in the area.
