Middle-movers liberated

Changes to stamp duty could help up to four million ‘frustrated middle-movers’, who have been desperate to leave their first homes.

More than two thirds of homeowners aged between 18 and 34 would like to buy their next home within two years, but did not think that they could afford to before the changes, according to research by Santander Mortgages.

The changes to stamp duty means that the cost of moving are significantly lower for this group.

According to hamptons Internation 72% of all buyers will be better off due to the changes, 27% will see no change and 2% will be worse off.
