Middlesex hospital scheme draws closer

A £750m transformation of the former Middlesex hospital site in Fitzrovia, W1, has been recommended for approval by Westminster city council.

The revised proposals, submitted on behalf of Aviva Investors, Exemplar Properties and Kaupthing Bank, include a number of extra contributions to affordable housing and the Crossrail development.

The council’s approval is subject to these extra funding pledges.

If granted planning permission on 2 February, the Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands and Sheppard Robson-designed scheme, will comprise a total built area of 575,000 sq ft, with a mixture of uses, including office, residential and retail.

CBRE would advise on offices; it would also advise on residential alongside Savills.
