Mike Hussey promoted to board of LandSec

Land Securities has appointed Mike Hussey (pictured), the managing director of its London portfolio, to the board.

Hussey joined LandSec as development director in 2002 and was responsible for overseeing the London development programme.

He introduced the Capital Commitment campaign, which markets LandSec’s London development programme, rather than individual schemes. He also oversaw the forward sale of 450,000 sq ft of offices at Bankside 123 to IPC Media.

In July, Hussey was promoted to managing director of the London portfolio and joined the newly created Senior Management Committee – following the shake-up of the management structure carried out by new chief executive Francis Salway.

LandSec chairman Peter Birch said: “Mike’s track record means that he brings to the board a strong insight into the London market and in particular the needs of modern occupiers.

“This accords well with the Group’s focus on the customer. We are delighted he has agreed to join the board.”
