Taylor Wimpey has announced that Mike Hussey is standing down as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
Hussey is chief executive of Almacantar and has served on the board since July 2011.
Kevin Beeston, chairman of Taylor Wimpey, said: “On behalf of the board of Taylor Wimpey, I would like to express the board’s gratitude to Mike, who, after seven years’ service, has decided to stand down as a non-executive director to focus on his own substantial private company interests and his growing commitments in the charity sector.
“We thank Mike for his invaluable contribution to the growth of the business and his insight into the acquisition and development of our major sites. We wish Mike all the very best for the future.”
Almacantar owns Centre Point, WC1, the Marble Arch Tower, W1, and One and Two Southbank Place, SE1.
It is in a process to find a shareholder or potential buyer for the £2bn business. However, it continues to consider the selective sale of single assets.
In May it agreed a deal to sell the Grade II listed Midtown office block CAA House, WC2, to Seaforth Land, backed by QuadReal for £165m, and also put up for sale its WeWork-let office in Soho at 125 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2 for £286.5m.
Before setting up Almacantar in 2010, Hussey held a number of senior roles in the property sector, lastly as an executive board director of Land Securities, before which he was head of leasing and marketing at Canary Wharf Group. He was also a partner at Knight Frank.
