UK retail sales bounced back in October as deep discounts and strong demand for household goods made up for slow growth in clothing sales.
Sales volumes grew by 0.8% last month, following a fall of 0.4% in September, according to the Office for National Statistics. Clothing sales, hampered by the mild weather, grew by just 0.5%.
