Miller Group is back in the black after a strong performance from its commercial property division.
The group – led by chief executive Keith Miller – reported a pretax profit of £400,000 in the first half of the year, up from a £52.9m loss this time last year. Revenue was up 7% to £262.5m.
Commercial property was the group’s most profitable division, delivering a £6m operating profit. The housing division produced the biggest turnaround – rising from a £35.2m loss in the first half of last year to a £4.4m profit.
Mining made a £4.2m profit and construction lost £0.8m.
