Milligan has recruited David Rothwell as its development director, and appointed a new head of sustainability.
Rothwell (pictured) was latterly development director at Greystar Europe, having joined as a development manager in 2017. Before that, he was a development manager at Aspire Development Management. He was also previously an associate director at CBRE.
In his new role, Rothwell will play a strategic part in driving major projects forward.
The developer has also appointed environmental engineer John Naylor as its new head of sustainability. He previously worked with Milligan on projects in the UK and Portugal.
Stuart Harris, chief operating officer of Milligan, said the hires form part of its strategy to build its mixed-use capabilities serving local authorities and investors.
Harris said: “To a varying degree, all our developments balance many different, complementary uses. The key to successful mixed-use assets or repurposing assets with excess retail is true collaboration between sector specialists.”
The hires come after Milligan hired Emma Powell from U+I as a development manager last year.
