The co-founder of hedge fund giant Brevan Howard Asset Management, Chris Rokos, has taken space for his first London office since quitting the company.
Rokos has signed a five-year lease for the 2,200 sq ft fourth floor of 12 Hay Hill, W1. He is paying £85 per sq ft for the sublet from Laiki Bank UK.
Rokos announced his retirement from Brevan Howard last August. He started the business 13 years ago with four other traders from Credit Suisse Group AG’s proprietary fixed-income trading desk. As of 2012, The Sunday Times estimated Rokos’s personal fortune to be £230m.
The new space will be used as a family office.
Strutt & Parker advised Laiki Bank; Mellersh & Harding represented the tenant.
