Millwall tries to block EGM requisition from property developer

Millwall FC is trying to block an attempt to requisition an extraordinary meeting by Graham Ferguson Lacey, an Isle of Man-based property developer who is the football club’s biggest shareholder.

The club will use new powers under the amended Companies Act to try block Ferguson Lacey from calling the meeting. It says proposed resolutions are “vexatious and ineffective”. The resolutions would stop the board making decision on its property assets without consulting shareholders.

Millwall fans have questioned whether Ferguson Lacey is interested in the club or its freehold property holdings. The Daily Telegraph says it was unable to contact Ferguson Lacey for comment.
