Minerva is working up plans to bolster the luxury residential redevelopment of an Odeon cinema on Kensington High Street, W8.
The group this week completed the purchase of the adjacent vacant Crown Post Office site from Royal Mail for just under £15m.
Minerva, which was bought by Delancey in March 2011, gained consent for a 100,000 sq ft scheme in 2008 comprising 35 luxury flats, five townhouses and a new cinema on the Odeon site.
But it is now expected to draw up new plans to include the post office site, which could allow for up to 50,000 sq ft of extra residential space.
A Minerva spokesman said: “We believe it is complementary to our existing ownership and a planning application will be submitted in due course.”
Estates Gazette revealed last month (17 November, p37) that Minerva’s six-year campaign to redevelop the former Ram Brewery, SW18, is also back up and running after plans were lodged with Wandsworth council.
There are a number of new residential developments under way on Kensington High Street.
St Edward, a joint venture between Berkeley and PRUPIM, has plans for 530 flats at the 300,000 sq ft Charles House.
And Chelsfield Partners is redeveloping the former Commonwealth Institute into 62 flats and a 100,000 sq ft museum.
DTZ acted for Royal Mail.
