Birmingham is reported to be enjoying a “mini-boom” following the revamp of the city centre and surround.
The Ministry of Sound has just opened its first bar there and the city will be the location of Raymond Blanc’s third Le Petit Blanc brasserie later this summer.
But the Financial Times says more need to be done especially to diversify tourism and improve shopping. It is hoped that other developments such as two big new shopping centres will take Birmingham those extra steps it needs to finally shake off its derogatory stereotyping.
