MIPIM ’09: £50m regeneration unveiled for Bradford

 


Four new Bradford schemes totalling £50m of investment are to be unveiled by urban regeneration company Bradford Centre Regeneration at MIPIM today.


 


The schemes being unveiled are:


 


The Property Group’s £15m No 1 Hamme Strasse, comprising 12,000 sq ft of offices and a 100-bed hotel;


 


Manoj Aggarwal’s High Point, comprising a £7m leisure scheme, 96-bed hotel, office space and shops;


 


The Skelwith Group’s Woolston Life and Leisure complex; a 142-bed hotel, 106 apartments, gym, swimming pool and a rooftop bar; and


 


Oakglade’s Manningham development, comprising 30 flats in a converted derelict building.


 


Bradford council has also said it will allocate £10m to the City Park development, comprising a mirror pool to create a civic centrepiece beside the listed City Hall, along with play areas, bars cafes and restaurants. The water feature is set to be the largest in the UK.


 


Bradford council’s executive member for regeneration and economy, councillor Adrian Naylor, said: “The news that developers are committing this amount of money in the city is very positive for the district and shows the confidence developers have in its regeneration.


 


The city has a 4 sq km masterplan for the regeneration of Bradford.
