MIPIM postpones Cannes event to 2021
MIPIM has postponed its Cannes conference to 2021, with this year’s show replaced with a Paris-based event in September.
Organisers will host a two-day gathering in Paris and create a new “online experience”, called MIPIM Connect, which will operate year-round. The online service will be free for delegates registered for MIPIM 2020.
The next MIPIM in Cannes will take place on 16-19 March 2021.

MIPIM 2020 exhibitors and visitors can now choose to have their 2020 fees carried over to MIPIM 2021 or reimbursed. They will be contacted by the MIPIM team to discuss preferences and answer questions “as soon as possible”.
More details about the two-day gathering in Paris and MIPIM Connect will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Filippo Rean, real estate division director at MIPIM organiser Reed MIDEM, said: “The situation surrounding Covid-19 is changing daily and government measures are becoming increasingly restrictive.
“It is clear that holding a large MIPIM trade show in Cannes in June is not feasible given the rapid spread, devastating impact and uncertain evolution of the virus.
“As it is not possible to organise a traditional MIPIM by the end of this year, we are planning a different form of gathering for clients in the autumn in Paris, plus a digital experience, MIPIM Connect. These aim to help the industry start to recover and are the precursors of MIPIM in Cannes in March 2021.”
