MIPIM UK: Ross Bailey, the 20-something entrepreneur whose disruptive company Appear Here is rewriting the rule books on retail tenancy agreements, will be speaking at an Estates Gazette debate on the pop-up revolution at MIPIM UK.
Young impressarios Jessica Tucker, founder of Urban Food Fest, and James Scott, chief operating officer of The Collective, are also on the bill for a debate that will look at the disruptive effect of opening up short-term sales spaces.
Pop-ups are transforming the retail landscape, but their impact on the rest of the property industry is no less profound.
The line-up, also featuring Charlie Green, co-chief executive of The Office Group and Adrian Leavey, partner at Trowers & Hamlins, will be drawn on whether the pop-up, or flash retailing, phenomenon is a short-term trend or permanent shift, and attempt to explain where it might lead next.
The one-hour session on 21 October is supported by Trowers & Hamlins is the first of a series of debates scheduled for the three-day conference at London Olympia and will get the event off to a vibrant start.
It is free to attend for all delegates at MIPIM UK. Register here.
