MIRA motors ahead with speculative development

The Motor Industry Research Association is to speculatively develop a 38,700 sq ft building on its 1.7m sq ft MIRA technology park in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The group got consent for the building this week. Designed for research and development use, the scheme will be towards the front of the £300m park.

The 830-acre site won enterprise zone status in August 2011 and will feature a major campus housing specialist buildings, including a 538,000 sq ft engineering centre for MIRA’s own use.

Development will be phased, with final completion set for 2021. MIRA is looking to share some of the costs and is seeking a partner for £30m-£50m of investment to develop out the rest of the site.
