Mitheridge Capital Management has hired Tim Simpson as partner and head of development.
Simpson was group director for planning and development at Christian Candy’s CPC Group. He spent more than 15 years at the firm and was a founding board director at subsidiary company Orlandis Capital.
Mitheridge is an alternative investment firm, launched by managing partner William Yerburgh in 2010. It boasts a number of prominent real estate leaders on its advisory board, including Delancey chief executive Jamie Ritblat as non-executive chairman.
Last year, Mitheridge recruited former former Hub managing director Steve Sanham as chief executive for development, leading new business Kin.
Kin has a debut scheme in Croydon and is also working up plans for 800 homes in a joint venture with SGN Place, at the Calor and Wandsworth Gasworks site on Smugglers Way, SW18.
At Mitheridge, Simpson will oversee new development expansion, with a particular focus on residential-led affordable housing schemes.
Yerburgh said: “Tim’s unrivalled track record in delivering complex residential-led projects will help Mitheridge deliver the sort of homes a changing society needs.”
Simpson added: “I see real opportunity in the affordable homes space in a similar way to that of high-end property years ago.”
