Housebuilder MJ Gleeson sold nearly 15% more homes in the second half of last year than for the same period in 2019.
In a trading update published ahead of its half-year results next month, the company said Gleeson Homes had sold 932 homes during the six-month period, 14.9% above the 811 sold for the same six months in 2019.
However, the figure was 2% lower than the same period last year, when Gleeson sold 951 homes. But Gleeson said the 2020 figures had been inflated owing to delayed completions from the first Covid lockdown.
It added that eight new build sites had been opened in the six months to 31 December, with 25 sites planned for the full year to June 2022.
MJ Gleeson said it is on track to deliver 2,000 homes by the end of June.
