Matt Kelly has left M&M Asset Management to set up a new asset management firm, Anglezark.
Landid managing director Trevor Silver has also joined as chairman but remains in his role at Landid.
The new venture aims to team up with private equity investors, Kelly said, adding that he wanted the company to pursue an active investment strategy and capitalise on opportunities, with a concentration on offices and retail assets.
He said: “We are open for business. We have already bid on some stuff and are looking for more.”
The company’s name is taken from the Anglezarke Reservoir in Lancashire, close to where Kelly grew up.
Kelly joined M&M as a partner in 2013 and helped build the company’s relationship with Apollo Global Management alongside the company’s chairman Kevin McGrath and chief executive Martin Sheppard.
He previously worked as a senior consultant at Lloyds Banking Group within its business support unit, which dealt with its distressed property portfolio and worked alongside Franco Sidoli as a partner at Franc Warwick.
