The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is to spend £180m on refurbishing its Whitehall headquarters instead of relocating.
The refurbishment will enable other MoD buildings to be sold because the Whitehall complex will increase staff capacity.
It will utilise the central section of the building which has been closed off for decades and used to dump old furniture.
