MOD Pizza, the pizza venture from the backers of burger chain Five Guys, has signed a deal for its third site in the UK.
The US restaurant, founded by Seattle Coffee Company owner Scott Svenson and backed by UK entrepreneur Sir Charles Dunstone, has agreed to take 2,555 sq ft on a 15-year lease at the 200,000 sq ft Gallagher Retail Park at junction 9 of the M6 in the West Midlands.
Alongside MOD Pizza, Smashburger is opening a 3,500 sq ft restaurant on a 15-year lease, and Nando’s is taking a 20-year lease on a 3,750 sq ft restaurant.
Gallagher Retail Park was bought by KKR and Quadrant Estates in 2014 for £91m from Gallagher Developments. The pair has secured planning permission to build three restaurant pods that are scheduled to complete in spring 2017.
Quadrant Estates’ partner James Bidwell said: “The new restaurant tenants will provide even greater vitality to Gallagher Retail Park.
“As asset manager, our aim is to continue enhancing the tenant mix and the consumer experience at Gallagher Retail Park and ensure that it remains the location of choice to shop and enjoy leisure time.”
Montagu Evans and Wilkinson Williams acted for Quadrant Estates and KKR.
