The Ministry of Defence has begun the search for a partner to redevelop Deepcut Army Barracks in Surrey into 1,200 new homes.
GVA has been appointed by Defence Infrastructure Organisation to identify potential developers and contractors to carry out the redevelopment of the Princess Royal Barracks.
The £200m to £300m contract, which will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) in early August.
The development partner will be required to provide a training infrastructure, which will include the construction of a tri-service training and administration facility with ancillary catering, retail, leisure, community, welfare, single living and service family accommodation, at Worthy Down in Hampshire.
It will also be required to manage the relocation of military units from Deepcut to Worthy Down and the subsequent redevelopment and disposal of the PRB Deepcut site.
GVA said that Deepcut has the potential to deliver 1,200 homes as well as commercial, retail and community space.
