The Ministry of Defence has begun work to produce a redevelopment plan for its 123-acre Defence School of Languages site in Buckinghamshire.
MoD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation will work with Inland Homes, South Bucks district council and Buckinghamshire county council, on a development brief for the Wilton Park site.
DIO has agreed a partnership with Inland Homes, which owns land adjacent to the site. A residential-led mixed use scheme is planned.
The new location of the Defence School of Languages has not been decided, but it will not be at Wilton Park, making the site surplus to MoD requirements.
Martin Lloyd, DIO head of disposals, south, said: “Future development of the Wilton Park site in Beaconsfield supports the government’s housing agenda in providing brownfield land for a much-needed market and affordable housing.”
