Build-to-rent operator and developer Moda Living has launched an extensive new ESG strategy – Next Generation Futures – that will see the company hit net zero operational carbon by 2030.
Moda’s strategy doubles down on its commitment to social and environmental sustainability for the long term and lays out targets and initiatives to deliver on that commitment.
The developer has split its strategy into three strands – Next Generation Places, Next Generation Communities and Next Generation Moda.
Each stream has its own set of targets and Moda will regularly report on its progress to maintain transparency and share learnings with the rest of the industry.
The strategy lays out goals for the company, such as preserving natural resources in development, prioritising green energy and winning three-star Fitwel certification for all future BTR developments. In addition, it aims to prioritise diversity and inclusion and invest in training and development, as well as maintaining consistent focus on health and safety throughout the business.
The strategy will streamline the collective efforts of the developer into an accountable programme.
Co-founder and director at Moda Living Dan Brooks said: “It is an ambitious but achievable strategy that will push Moda to be the most ESG conscious developer and operator possible by keeping sustainable places and communities at the heart of everything we do.”
