Monopoly players raise charity cash

Regent Street was up for grabs, Fleet Street, too. And in one particular corner of London, even parking was free.

Of course, we’re talking Monopoly, the reason behind a work-based spending spree at Banks Long & Co’s annual Monopoly challenge. The chartered surveying firm reeled in competitors who stumped up a fee to test their property-trading skills, with all money raised going to St Barnabas Hospice.

The winners of six first-round games progressed to a nail-biting final, at which accountant Steve Tointon, a director at Saul Fairholm, came up trumps in the end. More than £830 was raised for the hospice.
