Montagu Evans bolsters property management team

Montagu Evans has boosted its property management team with senior hires from Arup and JLL, with the appointments representing a “major shift for this area of the business”.

The firm has hired Arup’s head of property and workplace, Debbie Rogers, as its new head of destination.

Rogers, who has also joined as a partner, was at Arup for 13 years. Her responsibilities there included setting property strategy, delivering new space, development of workplace and design standards and oversight of facilities management.

In her new role, Rogers will focus on core facilities activities with an emphasis on customer experience, building technology and ESG.

The firm has also appointed Rob Sanders, previously head of technology for managed services at JLL, as its new head of innovation.

Sanders has also joined as a partner. In his previous role, he delivered technology savings of around £750k annually and implemented automation solutions that have delivered around 20% efficiency benefits.

Montagu Evans’ property management team includes 160 people working in London and across the UK, focusing on offices and retail property within the firm’s sector-based approach. It manages a rent roll of over £500m per annum across 600 properties for a wide range of UK institutions, property companies and local authorities.

Neil Worrall, head of property management at Montagu Evans, said: “Our proposition in property management centres on a technology and customer experience-led business, driven by a group of strategic and innovative experts – all built on a rock-solid foundation of fundamentals.

“Partnerships are incredibly important to us externally as well as internally – whether that’s a specialist landlord in Central London, large government body, major regional town centre asset or something in-between. That means nurturing and recruiting people who really understand each organisation’s needs to help connect the dots between the delivery of traditional landlord services and the experiences and services that occupiers need and value.

“This team has grown significantly over the past two or three years, and we’ve won some great mandates. But there are still more roles and opportunities to harness. Debbie and Rob are very welcome additions to our team as it expands and I know they will make a tremendous impact across all our sectors.”
