Montagu Evans has hired Cushman & Wakefield’s head of development and place John Percy, as a new partner in its town centre sector team.
Before joining Montagu Evans, Percy worked at C&W for 13 years, having joined in 2007 as a partner and head of retail development consultancy.
Percy has worked on high-profile developments including Grand Central Birmingham, Brent Cross and HS2, on behalf of clients including Aberdeen Standard, Columbia Threadneedle, Newcastle City Council, British Land, Hammerson, intu, M&G, Mole Valley District Council and BCP Council.
Percy also chairs the Revo Urban Development Committee.
In his new role, Percy will support the strategic growth of the firm’s town centre sector team, and its ability to work with clients on regeneration and repurposing projects in the UK.
Alan Harris, partner and head of Montagu Evans’ town centres team, said: “There’s no question right now that our town centres need to recover and then to thrive – and this means a clear vision that is distinct to every place and a deliverable strategy for bringing it forward.
“John will be an important addition to our team at a pivotal moment for the firm.”
Montagu Evans’ 26-strong town centre sector team has advised more than 100 councils across the UK. It has delivered more than 5m sq ft of schemes and £10bn of town centre and regeneration projects.
