Montreaux submits plan for more than 2,000 homes

Montreaux Developments has submitted plans for a 2,083-home scheme on a former industrial site in Southall East, Ealing.

Margarine Works – named after the Maypole Margarine factory that once operated on the site – will deliver affordable housing and a rental element alongside 111,000 sq ft of commercial, retail and leisure space.

The design will see the retention of the Sunrise Radio building and the façade of the factory.

The original factory facade will be retained

Loren Thanyakittikul, director at Assael Architecture, which designed the masterplan, said: “Southall is an area undergoing rapid change, so it was important for us to maintain a strong sense of community while delivering a significant number of high quality new homes.”
