Moorfield adds care homes to £125m portfolio

Moorfield Group has bought two care homes as part of a £125m strategy.

Moorfield, on behalf of Moorfield Real Estate Fund IV, and Allegra have completed the acquisition of two properties in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk from Alysia Caring.

The pair have bought the 80-bed Cherry Blossom Care Home in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, and Magdalen House (pictured), providing a further 53 beds, in Hadleigh, Suffolk.

The acquisition was supported with debt from Allied Irish Bank. It brings the portfolio to seven homes across Hampshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

Moorfield and Allegra launched the partnership in 2020, focusing on modern nursing and dementia care homes in central and southern England.

Charles Ferguson Davie, chief investment officer at Moorfield, said: “The local demographics are supportive of the demand for high-quality nursing, dementia and care homes, and our partnership with Allegra Care is intended to take advantage of our combined investment and operational expertise to provide exceptional levels of care to the residents.”

Allegra Care and Moorfield were advised by Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE. Alysia was advised by Halo Care.
