Morgan Capital plans retrofit and extension of London’s Dorset House

Morgan Capital has filed plans to retrofit and extend the nine-storey Dorset House on Stamford Street, SE1.

The vacant 1930s building is located within the London Bridge, Borough & Bankside Opportunity Area and was last refurbished in 1980s. Morgan wants to transform the 119,221 sq ft office block into a modern workspace of 161,104 sq ft by adding three floors to the existing building.

The proposals, created by Darling Associates, include a redesigned central entrance and corner entrance to improve the building’s relationship to the street and the neighbouring development sites.

There are also plans for a clubroom, basement cycle parking, dedicated lockers, showers and changing areas.

DP9 advised Morgan Capital on planning matters.
