Steve Morgan, who made his fortune at Redrow Homes, is close to putting together a deal to buy ITV’s 10% stake in Liverpool Football Club.
ITV would also like to sell its 5% stake in Arsenal but it is obliged to buy a further 5% stake next year for a fixed price of £30m as part of funding for the club’s new stadium at Ashburton Grove.
