Morland, the Abingdon brewer that was close to closure in 1992 when Greene King launched a hostile bid, has now doubled capacity. It intends to grow further. There are plans to create a brewing museum in the old brewhouse and it is supplying 100 retail pubs and 289 tenanted houses. Mike Watts, chief executive, said he planned to buy more pubs.
