MORNING NEWS: Mental health matters and Apple takes bite out of 22 Bishopsgate

Good morning. Here is your healthy and nutritious start to the day – property news, sunny side up.

But before that…  We need your help, and we are not afraid to ask for it. Mental health matters. Please take a little time as you slurp your morning mochaccino to take a look at our mental health in real estate survey. The results will feed in to our mental health awareness issue on 30 November.

An Apple a day… certainly helps with the pre-lets. AXA IM Real Assets have signed tech giant Apple for 100,000 sq ft at 22 Bishopsgate(£). Apple Pay will now be tower-buddies with global insurance firm Canopis.

And if you fancy something sweeter, Candy is dandy. Unless you are Delancey, of course(£), as Nick Candy confirms his plans for a sweet deal for CapCo.

Meanwhile, CapCo’s former planning chief, Anette Simpson, has joined L&G as its affordable housing director, as L&G splashes the pot with a £750m investment.

Blacksone and Telereal are using sweet words to woo, as they publish a charter for all their tenants – sing it with me now – ‘Underneath the Arches’.

But cold, hard cash is sweeter still, especially for WeWork’s Andy Neumann. Word is that he is willing to give up his controlling stake(£) to backer SoftBank in exchange for rescue financing(£). And $200m in his pocket.

Which will make him far better off than us Brits. Apparently, the number of British millionaires has fallen(£). A mere 2.46m Brits can claim to be dollar millionaires and in the top 1% of world’s wealthiest, down from 2.49m last year.

Perhaps he could buy some nice art. If so Marcus Meijer might have some tips, as he talks to EG about Meyer Bergman, the art of investing and investing in art.

Investors have not proved aficionados of Prudential’s plans to hive off M&G. Pru appears to have missed its goal(£), as initial trading values the new company(£) at less than its £6bn target.

And finally, Mike Ashley knows all about missing an open Goal(£). The Sports Direct boss has kicked out at a five-a-side football pitch operator for not playing ball with his buyout plans… Referee!
